Sage leaves are a popular meat and pasta seasoning. They can be used both fresh and dried. Sage also makes a nice tea. As a tea, sage has been administered for sore throats and coughs. Sage is a perennial shrub with woody stems. Its long oval shaped green/grey leaves are on long stalks, and are softly velvety. The aroma of sage is quite spicy and well scented. Sage prefers a warm, sunny location, although it does not enjoy extreme heat.
