Mitsuba - Cryptotaenia

  • This native Japanese herb is called Japanese hornwort or Japanese wild parsley. It is a popular traditional vegetable, dento yasai, of Japan. Long stalks have trefoil leaves that are aromatic. 

    In Asian cuisine, Japanese parsley is used as a seasoning, a potency tonic and the leaves and root are cooked as a vegetable while sprouts are eaten in salads.
