An annual herb, Summer Savory is a low-growing plant that belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae) and is related to rosemary and thyme.
It's s the kind of herb that’s compatible with a wide array dishes, just the way thyme in. In fact, the two can be easily used interchangeably. It’s one of the main ingredients in the herb blend, herbs de Provence, and is commonly paired with beans, vegetables, pork, lamb, stuffing, and sauces.
Native to the eastern Mediterranean and the Caucasus, it’s a highly aromatic herb and features a hot, peppery flavour with notes of marjoram, mint, and thyme.
